Arrive in Ushuaia, where you will be met by a representative of AE Expeditions and transferred with your fellow expeditioners to your assigned pre-voyage hotel. If you are already in Ushuaia, we ask you to make your way to your hotel. Check-in is from 3.00 pm. This afternoon, visit the AE Expeditions hospitality desk in the hotel lobby, between 3.00 pm and 7.00 pm, to collect your luggage tags.

This morning, enjoy breakfast and check-out. Enjoy your day at leisure and meet at your hotel lobby or from the meeting point at the parking lot near the pier to be transferred to the pier for embarkation.  

Once onboard, you’ll have time to settle into your cabin before our important mandatory briefings. As the ship pulls away from port, join the other passengers on the deck to commence your adventure with spectacular views over Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego.  

As you sail across the legendary Drake Passage, settle into the rhythm of the sea. The expedition team will prepare you for your first Antarctic landing with important wildlife guidelines and biosecurity procedures. Engaging lectures will introduce you to Antarctica’s fascinating history, wildlife, and environment.

Outside, seabirds like albatrosses and giant petrels glide gracefully around the ship, offering fantastic photography opportunities. Onboard, you can unwind in the observation lounges, stay active in the gym, or relax in the sauna and jacuzzis.

By the afternoon of Day 4, excitement builds as you approach the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. Keep watch from the observation deck for your first sighting of an iceberg—a moment you’ll never forget.

Arriving in Antarctica is an unforgettable experience, with 18-24 hours of daylight and a variety of activities available. The experienced expedition team will design your voyage based on weather, ice conditions, and wildlife opportunities. Landings or Zodiac excursions are made twice a day, allowing you to explore ice cliffs, icebergs, and penguin rookeries. Ashore, you can walk along pebbly beaches or up snow-covered ridgelines, or explore polar waters.

In addition to Zodiac cruises and shore excursions, you may ship cruise some of the straits separating offshore islands from the mainland or linger in scenic bays to watch whales.

Crossing the Antarctic Circle is a special highlight, and you will witness subtle changes in the landscape and wildlife distribution. The waters are rich with krill, whales, and penguins feeding their chicks.

Your Antarctic journey concludes with a final morning landing in the South Shetland Islands before returning to South America via the Drake Passage. Join lectures and film presentations to complete your experience. As ship approaches the tip of South America, the Captain may sail legendary Cape Horn, weather and time permitting.

During the early morning, cruise up the Beagle Channel, before quietly slipping into dock in Ushuaia, where you will be free to disembark around 8.00 am. Farewell your expedition team and fellow passengers as you all continue your onward journeys, hopefully with a newfound sense of the immense power of nature.
