SEA SPIRIT

Providing ample and spacious accommodation for 114 passengers, the M/V Sea Spirit is a small ship with a friendly atmosphere. The vessel has an ice-strengthened hull, a full fleet of Zodiacs, and a set of retractable fin stabilisers for smooth sailing in the polar regions. 

On-board you will find a very comfortable home in a traditional style and with a nice range of facilities to enjoy when you are not off exploring. The ship is an all-suite ship and all cabins have a seating area, private bathroom and exterior views. The higher categories also feature private balconies to enjoy the fantastic landscapes of the regions in which you are travelling. 

You can enjoy a delicious range of dishes at the ship’s restaurant, which offers a comprehensive buffet for breakfast and lunch, with dinner then served a-la-carte, in open dining. On the club deck, you will also find a fully stocked bar along with 24-hour coffee and tea station. Other facilities include an outdoor bistro for when the weather is good, a presentation lounge, a library, a gym and an on-deck hot tub. There is also an open bridge policy, allowing you to speak to the captain and the crew throughout the voyage.

"The Sea Spirit has been a staple of the expedition cruise world for many years now and has had several custodians over the years including Quark, Noble Caledonia and now, Poseidon Expeditions. Poseidon is a fantastic operator dedicated to small ship exploration of the polar regions with a focus on seeing as much of the destination as possible. From the minute you step on-board the classic styling is very apparent and you will find wood panels, brass handrails and touches of marble used throughout the ship. At first you may find yourself wondering if it’s a little dated, but very quickly the ship starts to elicit feelings of nostalgia for the great explorers and ships from times gone by, and the ambiance feels just perfect for the voyage ahead. However, unlike the ships from history, thankfully there is no shortage of comfort and facilities on-board this one! There is a fantastic presentation room, which really feels like the heart of the ship, and is where the expedition staff conduct lectures and present the plans for exploring each day. There are ample amounts of deck space for observing the passing landscapes including a promenade deck that wraps all the way around the ship. There is a lovely restaurant on the lower deck where breakfast and lunch consist of a generous buffet and dinner is served a-la-carte. On the top deck you will also find a great outdoor seating area complete with hot tub – a gin & tonic in here while passing penguins on the shore is something that just has to be done! When it comes to exploring, you will find a fleet of zodiacs, a dedicated loading platform at the rear of the ship, kayaks, camping-on-ice opportunities and a wealth of experience from an international team of the dedicated expedition staff. If you are looking for maximum time exploring and a comfortable base from which to do it, then you will feel right at home on the Sea Spirit."
