A trip to Svalbard is always a magical affair and the undisputed King of the region has to be the Polar Bear. On this extended 11-day cruise with G Adventures you will have an even greater chance to encounter this majestic creature. No one knows where the Polar Bear will appear, it might be close by from the security of your Zodiac, or further away on top of the ice pack hunting for seals.
Svalbard is a Norwegian archipelago in the Arctic Ocean. The main islands are Spitsbergen, Nordaustlandet, Edgeøya, Barentsøya and multitude of small islands. Your expedition will mainly take place on the West side of Spitsbergen Island, but if time and ice conditions allow then you may circumnavigate around the island to see even more. You may encounter Whales, Walrus, Seals, Arctic Foxes, Reindeer and a huge variety of birdlife. The scenery of the archipelago also varies, from fjords with beautiful glaciers and floating ice to dramatic cliff faces home to some of the incredible birdlife.
Back on-board your ship, the G Expedition, will offer you a home-from-home. Enjoy comfortable cabins each with private bathrooms, and a nice range of public spaces. Single travellers are also well catered for as you can be matched with another traveller and share your cabin without any supplement. The triple and quad cabins offer even better value prices too!
